How to Switch TRT Providers in Arizona (Do You Need New Labs?)
A lot of the men who book with AZTRT aren’t new to testosterone therapy. They’re already on it and want to switch TRT providers: to see the same provider at every visit, to know the price before they book, or to handle everything by video instead of driving to an office. The most common questions are the same every time. Do I need new labs? What do I bring? Will I run out of medication in between? This guide walks through how switching works at AZTRT, step by step.
What to have ready before your consult
Gather three things before your free 15-minute video consult. They let your provider see where you are now:
- Your recent labs. A PDF or a clear photo of the results is fine.
- Your current prescription. The medication, your dose and how often you take it.
- How much supply you have left. That way your start can be timed with no gap and no overlap.
If you’re not sure your old labs show what’s needed, bring them anyway. For a sense of what a full starting panel covers, see what bloodwork you need before starting TRT. Timing matters for labs drawn while you’re on therapy, too; TRT peak and trough explains why.
Do you need new labs to switch?
Not always. Labs from the past 12 months can be shared with your provider, and she decides whether they’re enough or a new draw is needed. If she reviews them and decides they work, you skip the new lab draw, which is the fastest path to medication at your door.
If she does need a fresh panel, your order goes to a Sonora Quest (Quest Diagnostics) location near you. Go fasted, before 10 a.m. Most locations take walk-ins. Your initial hormone panel is included in the monthly price: total and free testosterone, SHBG, estradiol, CBC, CMP and PSA.
Either way, nothing is prescribed until your labs have been reviewed. Paying doesn’t buy a prescription. It starts a clinical process, and your provider decides whether TRT is right for you.
How switching works at AZTRT, step by step
- Free video consult. 15 minutes by live video with Lauren Orta, FNP-C, an Arizona-licensed nurse practitioner (Arizona APRN license #261957, which you can verify on the Arizona Board of Nursing site). Talk through your history, your current prescription and your goals. No cost, no obligation.
- Lab review. She reads your recent labs, or orders a new draw if they aren’t enough.
- Her decision. She reads your panel with your symptoms and decides whether TRT is appropriate, and at what dose. If it isn’t, nothing ships and you’re refunded minus $50 for labs (see the fulfillment policy).
- Shipped to your door. If she prescribes it, the prescription goes electronically to a PCAB-accredited partner pharmacy. Medication ships free in discreet packaging with syringes, needles and alcohol prep, and refills are sent before you run out.
- Same provider after that. The provider who reads your first labs is the one who reviews your dose, answers your messages and checks in every quarter. A dose question doesn’t need an appointment.
Visits are online, anywhere in Arizona. You need to be an Arizona resident and in the state during each visit. For how the calendar usually plays out from consult to delivery, see how long it takes to start TRT online in Arizona.

The simplest way to avoid a gap is to book your consult while you still have medication on hand. Tell your provider how much supply you have left, and your start can be timed so there’s no gap and no overlap. Before you cancel anything, check your current provider’s cancellation terms so you know when your last shipment or billing date falls.
What switching costs
AZTRT publishes one price before you book: $149 a month in 90-day terms. That’s $447 per term, or $357.60 if you pay the 90 days up front (a 20% saving). It covers:
- Your initial hormone panel
- Every provider visit, with the same provider
- Ongoing dose reviews and messaging with your care team
- Testosterone cypionate, if prescribed, plus supplies and free shipping
Follow-up lab draws after your initial panel are billed separately, and your provider tells you before ordering one. Other medications are billed separately too. AZTRT is cash-pay only and doesn’t bill insurance, though most patients can use an HSA or FSA card (check with your plan administrator, or read can you use an HSA or FSA for TRT in Arizona). You can cancel any time from your patient account, by email or by phone, and cancellation takes effect at the end of your current 90-day term. The full breakdown is on the pricing page.

The TRT page covers treatment at AZTRT in more detail, and the FAQ answers the rest of the common questions.
